Grade School Students
You might think that elementary school is a bit early to start thinking about college. However, it is important as a younger student to think broadly in terms of your future. As can be expected, you will change your mind many times about “what I want to be when I grow up.” Talk to your parents and relatives. Simple discussions might allow you to better understand what inspires, interests and challenges you.
Some initial questions might include:
- What are your favorite classes and why?
- What are some jobs that interest you? Why?
- Do you like being around people a lot or do you prefer a quieter setting?
While you will not get serious about a career choice for many years to come, probing likes and dislikes will encourage you to think about the possibilities of what the future may bring.
